CALL FOR YOUNG INTELLECTUALS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Regional Institute of Central Asia (RICA) in partnership with The Nippon Foundation and

Japan Central Asia Friendship Association (JACAFA) calls for the Young Intellectuals
Scholarship Program.
The program intends to teach academic writing, including step-by-step instructions, research
methodologies, manuscript editing, selecting and submitting to high-ranked journals.
The scholarship is awarded to program participants.
Duration – 6 months.
Eligibility:
- Citizenship of Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan);
- Be a registered master or Ph.D. student of Higher Education Institutions (HEI)
located in Bishkek;
- Knowledge of English (Intermediate Level);
- Research field: economics (entrepreneurship, economic policy, economic
development, etc.,), agriculture, pedagogy, political science, international
relations, and related social research fields;
Required documents:
1. Research proposal (500 words);
2. Student ID card (copy) or another document from registered HEI;
3. Record of academic achievement (Transcript or student’s grade record-book);

The selection process consists of 2 stages. Only those students that successfully pass
the 1 st stage are going to be contacted for an interview. The selection committee includes
the representatives of RICA, The Nippon Foundation, and JACAFA.
